Chateau Pape Clement is a grand cru classe de Graves and is currently managed by Bernard Magrez, who also owns a few Chateaus such as Chateau La Tour Carnet, Chateau Haut Peyraguey and Chateau Fombrauge. They produce a full-bodied and powerful red wine and also a remarkable white from Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, in which the white is produced in less quantities and it is widely agreed that their white is as good as their red.
From a prodigious year and nowadays stepping into an ideal time of drinking, we have an excellent-priced parcel of Pape Clement Blanc 2005 that is worth putting a few into everybody’s cellar. To put it into perspective, this is the highest scored Bordeaux dry white from Robert Parker who gave it a tremendous 96 pts, 1 point ahead of the legendary Haut Brion Blanc which sells at around HK$8,956 per bottle#.

96 pts Robert Parker
An outstanding combination of 55% Sauvignon Blanc and 45% Semillon, this full-bodied, dry white boasts copious quantities of lemon grass, honeysuckle, and apple notes backed up by hints of wood, quince, and nectarines. Concentrated, with admirable acidity, richness, and a more forward style than its neighbors, Laville Haut-Brion and Haut-Brion, this beauty can be enjoyed now and over the next 10-15 years.
