Since starting his negotiant business under his own name in 1996, Nicolas Potel built up a reputation for himself among drinkers who look for great value Burgundies. Due to financial hardship in 2004, he sold his business and set up a new negotiant business under the name Roche de Bellene in 2009. Thanks to his extensive sourcing network of high-quality grapes and the skills to produce fantastic Burgundies, Nicolas Potel got back up on his feet almost instantly. He continues to uphold the good quality of his wines in which the style remains to be full and saturated with the beautiful affection of oak. He has also been aggressively practicing biodynamic methods with most of the growers he works with operating either organically or biodynamically. Some of his productions still lie in his cellar and we are thrilled to explore some of these library stock, direct from the Maison Nicolas Potel cellar which has remained unmoved from vilification to now and will be labelled after ordering.
