The year 2006 is a story in itself - having extreme high temperatures with 23 days over 30°C, and went from dry periods to intense rainfall in August, with the equivalent of 2 months' rain falling in only 2 weeks. This capricious weather gave birth to some rich and concentrated grapes yet still had the freshness and acidity they needed to create a great and classic Krug champagne, which is also where Krug 2006 got its nickname "Capricious Indulgence", as the House calls it.
This 2006 vintage has a combination of Pinot Noir (45%), ripe and full-bodied Chardonnays (35%) which add roundness and opulence, and Meuniers (20%) bringing tension and length and is cellared for 12 years before its release giving it a beautiful balance and finesse that we can taste today. It offers generous and intense aromas on the palate, so wonderful that it was awarded with 97 points by William Kelley from The Wine Advocate, commenting that it is "beautifully balanced and will give immense pleasure for decades".
Today we have a small parcel offer. Highly demanded around the globe, we expect these to sell out almost immediately, so please do not hesitate to secure a few especially as we step into the last quarter of the year and all festivities soon to arrive -

97pts William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
Krug's superb 2006 Brut, which will be released this year, numbers among the vintage's high points, unfurling in the glass with a complex and expressive bouquet of tarte tatin, warm biscuits, ginger, honeycomb, dried white flowers, smoke and toasted nuts. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, broad and textural, with a fleshy attack that reflects the warm vintage but segues into a beautifully vibrant palate that's deep and surprisingly reserved, displaying superb definition, delicately chalky structure and a long, lively finish. While this is a powerful vintage Krug, it's also beautifully balanced and will give immense pleasure for decades.
