Starting today til Friday, we will be featuring a great-value Burgundy Grand Cru every day. To kick start the week, we have a parcel of Nicolas Potel Roche de Bellene Corton Grand Cru 2013. Nicolas Potel is a well known negotiant who first started his business in 1996 and had successfully created a name for himself quickly as a producer of great-value Burgundies. After selling his label in 2004 due to financial hardship, he set up a new negotiant business under the name Roche de Bellene based in Beaune in 2009.
With his extensive sourcing network of high quality grapes and skills to produce fantastic Burgundies, he continued to produce great quality wine at excellent price tags, and he has also been aggressively working on biodynamic methods in which most of the growers he works with are operating either organically or biodynamically, all wines are then labeled under “Roche de Bellene” which means they are carefully selected and monitored from vine to wine.
Roche de Bellene's wine style is typically traditional and remains one of the top value Burgundies to secure nowadays. From a down-to-earth winemaker who makes very high quality wines, drinkers who look for superb value Pinots should seize the chance before it is sold out -
