We had a blast with our family, friends and suppliers over the holiday with great meals and, of course, beautiful bottles of Burgundies and Champagne from our stock. We are excited to share a few highlights of what wehave tasted with some brief wine notes, and offering these at special discounted prices from now til end of 24th April 2019 (tomorrow) -
Faiveley Mercury 2015 HK$255 per bottle, 18 bottles in stock Special Offer – HK$230 per bottle Burgundy Cave Tasting Notes: Spicy and peppery note with hot sweetness flavours in palate, very ripe red fruits and pleasant floral flavours. It’s a wine to enjoy now than to age. Joseph Roty Gevrey Chambertin 2016 HK$420 per bottle, 8 bottles in stock Special Offer – HK$400 per bottle Burgundy Cave Tasting Notes: Warm and lovely fruits of red currant, plum, licorice and elegant ending with violet. This is a supple, savory wine for dining and all flavours from this bottle are pleasant and charming. Excellent juice that are already enjoyable now. Thibault Liger-Belair Nuits-St-Georges La Charmotte 2012 HK$480 per bottle, 4 bottles in stock Special Offer – HK$450 per bottle Burgundy Cave Tasting Notes: Light-weight and receives comparatively less oak than other wines from Thibault Liger-Belair. It filled up with red floral, cherries and dried herbs aromas with wild spicy note in palate. Drink now. Joseph Colin Saint Aubin Sur le Sentier du Clou 1er Cru 2016 HK$410 per bottle, 18 bottles in stock Special Offer – HK$395 per bottle Burgundy Cave Tasting Notes: Riper and sweeter than most Saint Aubin, dominated by green apple and pear in palate. Pleasant, supple and easy-going. It doesn’t have the most complex structure but is enjoyable for lunch or a relaxing afternoon at home. Gosset Blanc de Blanc NV HK$420 per bottle, 18 bottles in stock Special Offer – HK$405 per bottle Burgundy Cave Tasting Notes: The Gosset Blanc de Blanc is a blend of three vintages and stayed four years with lees. White flowers, lime, white peach and mint are all nicely layered in palate. This is a light and pure Champagne with soft curve in the palate and refined mousse. Krug Grande Cuvee 166th edition NV HK$1,100 per bottle, 18 bottles in stock Special Offer – HK$1,080 per bottle Burgundy Cave Tasting Notes: Arguably the most remarkable style of all grande marques, Krug Grande Cuvee 166th edition remains its ultra-fine quality with golden apple, tropical fruits, vanilla and creamy notes with saline finish. The 166th edition is based on 2010 vintage and shows the warmness of the vintage, and it is perfectly balanced with bright acidity that makes 166th edition to enjoy the same sheer quality with earlier release. A beautiful champagne to treasure every sip. We were also thrilled with a bottle of Chateau Margaux 1983 as well as the Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs 1993, both are in superb conditions to enjoy now. We are able to source the Chateau Margaux 1983 with an ETA of just 3 weeks while the Dom Ruinart is yet to be available unfortunately - Chateau Margaux 1983 HK$3900 per bottle (ETA 3 weeks) Burgundy Cave Tasting Notes: From a bottle which could not even read any information from the label, the bottle was justified by the complete cork hints that the bottle received excellent storage from the last 35 years. An excellent example of first growth Bordeaux which have reached its peak, fully evolved from sexy aromas of dark fruits, tobacco, dried thymes then follow up with silky finish. This is also a dense and powerful Chateau Margaux with opulent phenolics touch. Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blanc 1993 Not available Burgundy Cave Tasting Notes: The Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blanc 1993 is fabulous! Feels of cold breezes and toasty aromas, it gives an impressive palate of lemon tart, crushed rocks, pear, honey and roasted nuts. There is also obvious touch of chalk and solid minerals here. This is a complete wine with no shortcomings, outstanding quality. Subject to final confirmation. Special offer price valid til end of tomorrow, 24th April 2019. Delivery is free-of-charge for single purchases above HK$3,000 (or accumulated amount at time of delivery); otherwise a standard delivery fee of HK$80 applies.
