Besides all the Champagne houses we all know and love, there are many small Champagne growers who make high-quality, terroir-expressive Champagnes with a more reasonable price tag. One of these top growers is Agrapart Et Fils. A well-known French publication, La Revue du Vin de France, gave Agrapart a 3-star rating (the highest rating available), which only nine other Champagne estates were awarded the same, including Jacques Selosse, Krug, Egly Ouriet, etc.
Agrapart is frequently compared against Jacques Selosse however their styles are different. Retaining old vines, using less oak and oxygen in his wines and keeping to tradition in turning the bottles by hand, Agrapart's Champagnes are rich and complex in structure and offers crystalline purity that is enjoyable when young but also with the potential to age.
We are glad to offer a few Agrapart Blanc de Blancs Minéral from stock, from old vines in Avize and Cramant with lees aging for about 5 years. This is a terroir-driven, grower Champagne that gives a remarkable experience -
Agrapart Blanc de Blancs Minéral Grand Cru 2011 HK$620 per bottle (18 bottles in stock, Best Price in Town#) 91 pts Antonio Galloni The 2011 Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Minéral Grand Cru is a very pretty wine, even if it is a touch light in this vintage. A wine of modest structure and complexity relative to the norm here, the Minéral does avoid the vegetal qualities and other strident notes of other 2011s. There is good energy and vibrancy to the wine, if not quite the layers of flavor that are signatures of the very best editions. The Minéral emerges from Les Champboutons in Avize and Les Bionnes in Cramant, both of which are high in limestone and planted with vines that are more than 40 years old. This release is equal parts 2014 ad 2013 vintages. Disgorged: May 2017. Dosage is 5 grams per liter.
