Morey Saint Denis - an appellation in the Côte de Nuits region with around 40hectares of vineyards producing mainly reds. Their wines usually comes with a bouquet of partly black fruits (blackcurrant, bilberry) and partly red fruits like cherries. In some wines, there may be notes of liquorice, and fruits conserved in liquor. As they age, scents of game, leather and truffle may be present. Sustained and structured, Morey-St-Denis wine lingers in the mouth and has just the right balance between body and fruit. Perfect to pair with any meat with strong flavours like a fine rib steak or with soft-centred cheeses!
Today we are excited to present to you our latest arrivals of Morey-St-Denis wines from renowned domaines Fourrier and Georges Roumier -
A tiny parcel of only 0.55 ha planted in 1961, Clos Solon lies on the eastern part of Morey St Denis. Jean-Marie Fourrier has a number of followers who enjoy the distinct elegant, fruity style with exceptional purity that always found in their bottles. Due to the heat wave in 2003, Jean-Marie Fourrier has done extra hard work when picking the grapes, and he explained that the old vines have more developed root systems and they suffered much less from the heat than the young vines did. Their 2003 creation was praised to be "exceptionally rich, full bodied and sweet flavors" by Allen Meadows. We are able to offer 10 bottles of their 2003 in stock, which are the only availability in the world# -

87-90 pts Allen Meadows "Outstanding"
A combination of ripe pinot fruit and cassis aromas are followed by exceptionally rich, full-bodied and sweet flavors that offer excellent punch and ample power. This is really quite an elegant wine with none of the usual rusticity plus better precision and detail than any of the prior wines.
Lies on the lower southern side of Morey-St-Denis, bordering Chambolle Musigny, Clos de la Bussiere is normally a soft and very pleasant wine; and under the crown of Georges Roumier it becomes one of the greatest bargains among all their productions. Usually it requires 10-15 years of aging to evolve, and we believe given the style of vintage 2007 this is already charming if consumed now. At only HK$1,400 per bottle, this 10-year-old Morey-St-Denis looks to be a great buy -

89 pts Allen Meadows There are now traces of secondary development to the still very fresh nose that is comprised primarily of earthy red berry fruit. There is fine intensity to the detailed and relatively refined flavors as the tannins avoid any sense of rusticity on the otherwise still moderately firm finish. I like the sense of verve and while the finish is still exhibiting some structure I suspect that 8 to 10 years of bottle age will see this at its peak. Tasted twice with consistent notes.
