Charles Dufour, a young and forward-thinking winemaker who took over a mere 6 hectares of vineyard in Côte des Bar in 2006 and started his adventure in making some stylish Champagne. In 2010, he divided the vineyard and grows Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc using organic methods! He retains old vines, works with natural yeasts for fermentation (never adopts sulphur dioxide) and adds extremely low dosage in all his wines. One of his productions - Bulles de Comptoir - is numbered sequentially and given a new artistic label in each new release. It is a non-vintage blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc that is perfect for people who enjoy the freshness and fruits.
Charles Dufour has recently released the #6 of Bulles de Comptoir named “Benjamine”, 80% of its harvested from Vintage 2015 with remaining reserve wines between 2010 to 2014. Base wines are fermented with oak barrels and wild yeast , with less than 4g/L dosage added. This stylish grower has reminded us of some of the most thrilling bubbles tasted over the years.
