During our trip in Burgundy we were surprised by a few wines from Savigny-les-Beaune of both reds and whites. The reds are compelling with excellent price tags and the whites offers crystal clearness and purity with welcoming herbal note as well as solid acidity. Among the vast range of domaines we have tasted including Simon Bize, Pavelot and Prieure, we are absolutely blown away by a bottle of Savigny-les-Beaune Haut Marconnets 1er Cru 2015 from Domaine Chanson that made us just pause for a moment from the busy tasting run and kept enjoying every sip of the wine.
Domaine Chanson is one of the oldest and most successful negociants in Beaune dating back to 1750. It was managed by the Chandon family until it was sold to Bollinger in 1999 and has since improved most of their facilities thanks to Bollinger's strong financial arm. They acquired organic certification in 2009 and nowadays they have expanded their shareholding to about 45 hectares across Beaune, Savigny-les-Beaune and Pernand-
