For most of the wine connoisseurs, Le Montrachet is the final destination for their pursue of perfect Chardonnay that embraces power, complexity and finesse. There is only 7.99 hectares that makes roughly 45,000 bottles per year to satisfy high demand all over the world, which makes a bottle of Le Montrachet higher-priced than any other white wines in the world. A cellar is never considered "complete" without a few bottles of Le Montrachet so here today we have sourced a tiny parcel of a superb-scored Le Montrachet at 98pts by Allen Meadows that you should consider securing for your Burgundy collections. From Bouchard Père & Fils, who has the highest-scored white wine for the vintage 2010 by Allen Meadows and was commented to be a "broad and dense" Montrachet and "one of the best wines of the entire vintage", it even outperforms other top Montrachet domaines such as Leflaive, DRC and Ramonet and at a relatively affordable price too!
From the comparison below it clearly explains why you should buy this before it gets sold out -
Bouchard Père & Fils Le Montrachet Grand Cru 2010
HK$4,550 per bottle
98 pts Allen Meadows “Don’t miss!”
As with the La Cabotte, there is a lot of unabsorbed sulfur present that renders reading the nose tricky but the aromas are clearly ripe, broad and dense. By contrast, the massive and superbly well-concentrated flavors are a genuinely marvelous combination of size, weight, tension and again, almost painful intensity. Despite all of the muscle and concentration, there is absolutely no heaviness, indeed the acid support is such that this comes across as impeccably well-balanced on the palate staining finish. This is a magnificent wine, in fact this is one of the best wines of the entire vintage and that is obviously saying something as 2010 is very special. A "wow" wine par excellence. Note that like the Chevalier, should you elect to try one of these gems young, which I would strongly advise against, do be sure to decant it.
