Dom Perignon 2004 was sold like hotcakes when we first offered them out back in August this year. Everyone expected prices to rise because older vintages' prices tend to be pushed up as new releases come out (2009 this year), so people decided to stock up a few when we offered it at HK$905 per bt. Now 4 months later, we are indeed seeing an inflation in the prices for this serious and highly-scored Champagne; and today we are excited to be bringing this beauty back at again amazing market prices. Wine critic Antonio gave this Champagne 97 points, saying that it is “one of the stars in this tasting”, while Jancis described it to have “excellent acidity" and is "very well structured”. This vintage is one that all Dom Perignon followers should stock up on. For further reference, per Antonio Galloni's scoring, Dom Perignon's 2004 rates higher than 1995 (94 points), 1996 (95 points) and 2000 (94 points); and for the fantastic vintage 2002, 2004 is just a point lower but more than 50% less demanding in the price. All in all, this 2004 would be a wonderful gift or an excellent Champagne for personal enjoyment -
Dom Perignon 2004 HK$960 per bottle 97pts Antonio Galloni One of the stars in this tasting, the 2004 Dom Pérignon is starting to express the potential it hinted at as a young wine. Specifically, the 2004 has gained quite a bit of volume and overall depth within the last few years. The first signs of aromatic nuance are starting to develop, which suggests the 2004 will soon enter its first plateau of maturity. 18.5 out of 20 pts Jancis Robinson Tasted blind. Very minerally nose. Excellent acidity. Very well structured. Still a little bit of framework here as well as fruit. Quite a youthful wine. But broad and exotic on the nose. Subject to final confirmation. Delivery is free of charge for single purchases of HK$3,000 or above; otherwise a HK$80 fee per delivery applies.
