Domaine Billaud-Simon, founded in 1815 by Charles Louis Noel Billaud, imposes careful measures from vines to bottles such as doing all grapes-picking by hand for all Grand Crus and 1er Crus vineyards and bottling their wines late to ensure their wines are fully ready before releasing them from the cellar. A reliable domaine in Chablis, there is always a peaceful purity from their wines with a mild touch of smokiness in their finish. When their Preuses and Blanchots arrived in stock we immediately opened both that night without hesitation - both strikingly impressive, and having stepped into their maturation period, the value that these Grand Cru Chablis' bring well exceed their price. Today we are happy to make a ONE-DAY SPECIAL OFFER at only HK$500 per bottle, let us know if you would like a few.
Billaud Simon Chablis Preuses Grand Cru 2010 Original price: HK$550 per bottle Special offer: HK$500 per bottle 95 pts Antonio Galloni "The 2010 Chablis Les Preuses is another wine that captures the essence of the year in its crystalline purity. It reflects the subtler, more refined side of 2010 in its finely cut, chiseled white stone fruits, slate, smoke, mint, crushed rocks and lime. Although there is plenty of energy and focus in the glass, the Preuses, and the finish in particular, is all about delicacy and understated minerality. Anticipated maturity: 2014+."
Billaud Simon Chablis Blanchots Grand Cru 2010 Original price: HK$550 per bottle Special offer: HK$500 per bottle 93 pts Antonio Galloni "Aging in oak gives the 2010 Chablis Blanchots Vieilles Vignes much of its softness and suppleness, but a serious core of deep, resonant fruit lies behind the wine’s approachable, open personality. In 2010, the oak is much better integrated than in the 2011 but that may be related to the extra year of elevage the 2010 has. A hint of yellow stone fruits, spices and apricots lingers on the finish. This should drink well with minimum cellaring. It is a striking effort. Anticipated maturity: 2012+."
