Originally from the US, Blair Pethel was a concert pianist turned political journalist and now a wine producer in Burgundy. He developed his passion for wine in London and dove deep by beginning to work for Patrice Rion in Nuits-St-Georges and Jean-Marc Pillot in Chassagne-Montrachet. He acquired his first plot of land - Corton-Charlemagne - in 2004 and established Domaine Dublère (du Blair). Blair takes full charge of all his viticultural, winemaking, and distribution work all by himself. Besides using fruits from his own vineyards, he also purchases them from a handful of superb growers across the Côte D'Or who allow him to manage the vines himself and have complete control of the harvest. His work is appreciated by many, one of which is world renowned wine critic Allen Meadows from Burghound, who said, "Pethel clearly has a gifted touch because the wines are almost too good to have been made by someone with so little practical experience (he employs no consultants).”
We are happy to offer Dublere's Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2006 which was commented by Robert Parker to be a wine with a long-finishing and "combines elegance and polish with formidable underlying concentration". This is a beautiful aged white that will be great to enjoy now -
Domaine Dublère Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2006
HK$980 per bottle
12 bottles available, ETA 2-3 weeks
93-94pts Robert Parker
Pethel’s four barrels of 2006 Corton-Charlemagne (half of them new) represent the original acreage of his still tiny domaine. Lime fruit, chalk dust, iris, marine-like savor and salinity, and nutty richness delight the nose and envelop the palate in this long-finishing wine that combines elegance and polish with formidable underlying concentration. I suspect it will hold well for at least a dozen years.
Subject to final confirmation.
Delivery is free-of-charge for single purchases above HK$3,000 or 6 bottles (or accumulated amount at time of delivery); otherwise, a standard delivery fee of HK$80 applies.
