Lying in the southern part of the famous terroir Les Amoureuses, Domaine de la Vougeraie owns a number of fantastic terroirs in Bourgogne, including 6 Grand Crus such as Musigny, Bonnes-Mares, and Charmes-Chambertin Les Mazoyeres, and are all managed by Pascal Marchand and Pierre Vincent. They offer a broad selection from village to Grand Cru that never disappoints drinkers. All their vineyards are accredited in biodynamic farming and have small yields as they are very strict in the picking of grapes to make sure only the highest-standard grapes go into the wine. In addition, their wines are never over-oaked and are charming from young to mature, always fragrant, delicate, and pure. They have long been one of our favourites and we always keep an eye out for them and snatch them up whenever the price is right, which is what we would recommend any Burgundy drinker to do too!
Today we are pleased to offer Domaine de la Vougeraie Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2014 which was awarded with 94 points from Allen Meadows who commented it to have "excellent freshness and intensity" and that it has "powerful and concentrated flavours". At HK$3,150 per bottle, this is extremely good value as other producers such as Ramonet and Leflaive of the same wine and vintage is over and nearly over twice the price of Vougeraie but with similar quality based on Allen's scores; and it is scored the same with DRC but it does not have any listing available for price comparison but we all know its price would not come close to that of Vougeraie's - at all!
Available in just 2-3 weeks, there are only 6 bottles available so do not hesitate to place your order now. And apart from Vougeraie's Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2014, we also have several other selections of Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru and Bienvenue-Bâtard-Montrachet available from our stocklist, check out the list down below -
Domaine de la Vougeraie Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2014 HK$3,150 per bottle 6 bottles available, ETA 2-3 weeks 94pts Allen Meadows A very pretty nose reflects notes of petrol, lemon rind, acacia and lovely spice hints trimmed in discreet oak wisps. There is excellent freshness and intensity to the broad-shouldered, powerful and concentrated flavors that possess a sleek muscularity on the balanced finale where a firm core of citrus-tinged acidity maintains the balance. Plenty of patience will be required as this is still a bit youthfully awkward though the excellent upside development potential is undeniable.
