The iconic polychromatic-tiled Hôtel-Dieu (Hospices de Beaune) in central Beaune currently owns around 60 hectares which the majority are used for Pinot Noir production and the rest used for Chardonnay, in which around 85% are premier crus and grand crus. They have entrusted 22 winemakers to produce wines and sell their productions at their auction which offer great sentimental and financial value. Each of these entrusted winemakers have deep roots in Burgundy and posses intimate knowledge of the terroir and the secret to making fine wines, and one of which is the famed Albert Bichot.
Today we are pleased to offer the Cuvee General Muteau 2006 by Albert Bichot from Hospices de Beaune. The Cuvee General Muteau was named after Paul-Jules Muteau who bequeathed an important estate to the Hotel-Dieu in 1926 to honour his contributions. The cuvee is made up from 5 superbly located Volnay Premier Cru including Taille Pieds, Le Village Fremiets, En Caillerets Dessus and Carelle Sous Chapelle. From 2006, this is a well aged bottle that is ready to drink now and only at as low as HK$380 per bottle. This is an amazing bottle to stock up for daily enjoyment -
