Being one of the very top Champagne houses, Louis Roederer's Cristal is highly demanded around the world. The cuvee and its distinctive flat, clear lead crystal glass bottle design was first made in 1876 to satisfy the demanding tastes and safety needs of Tsar Alexander II. Produced only during the best years, when the Chardonnay (around 40%) and Pinot noir (around 60%) grapes have attained perfect maturity, it is aged for 6 years in Louis Roederer’s cellars and left for a further 8 months after dégorgement. Depending on the growing conditions in each year, the cellar master will slightly change his secret recipe as a cooler year may favor Pinot Noir while a warmer year will favor Chardonnay. Every release offers a powerful and multi-dimensional Champagne that amazes every drinker's senses; therefore, we are always keen to stock up on Cristals whenever the price is right.
The most recent release of Cristal is the 2013 vintage that will be available around mid-late May. The 2013 vintage went through a difficult growing season, but was still good and comparable to the great 2012 vintage. The Cristal 2013 was awarded with a high score of 96 points by William Kelley from Wine Advocate who stated that this 2013 is "less introverted than its 2012 predecessor, readers won't regret trying a bottle of 2013 Cristal young". Now available to order at a special price of HK$1,500 per bottle if you purchase 6 bottles or above, get these while available and at this amazingly good price before prices go up! -

96pts William Kelley, Wine Advocate Notes of crisp yellow orchard fruit, white flowers, blanched almonds and warm brioche introduce the 2013 Cristal, a full-bodied, layered and incisive wine that's taut and chiseled but also notably exuberant in a vintage that I admire immensely but which can sometimes present an austere side. Deep, concentrated and penetrating, it's complemented by a pinpoint mousse and concludes with a long, saline finish. Less introverted than its 2012 predecessor, readers won't regret trying a bottle of the 2013 Cristal young—even if I'd recommend forgetting some for a decade too.
