Back in the olden days, the amazing qualities of Burgundy wine were shaped by large negociants and the oldest and most distinguished negociant was Charles Viénot which was founded in 1735. Nearly every list of greatest 20th Century wines includes at least a few from Charles Viénot. The business was sold to the Charles Boisset Group in 1984 while their Richebourg plot was sold to Jean Grivot. Nowadays, Charles Viénot continues to craft high quality wines from small, exclusive parcels selected by the team.
