A domaine which offers amazing wines at superb prices, Dupont-Tisserandot's wines are often sold out quickly whenever we offer them out. Winehog's Steen Ohman had commented that Dupont-Tisserandot "deserves more awareness from the Burgundy drinkers - this is fine red Burgundy". Sadly, as the domaine owner has no children to inherit their vineyards, they sold their vines to Domaine Faiveley in 2013 so 2012 is the very last vintage of wines created under their label.
Yesterday we opened a bottle of their Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers 1er Cru 2012 which was sourced directly from the domaine and we really enjoyed it. It has already stepped into its ideal drinking window, and was enjoyable almost immediately upon opening the bottle with a nice bouquet of dark berries, tart cherries, spices and smokiness. We immediately went to source more of this and highly recommend securing a case or two and are pleased to offer a few more selections from Dupont-Tisserandot if you already secured their Les Cazetiers 2012 when we offered earlier this year. Both ex-domaine, these are only HK$565 per bottle+, definitely not one to miss if you are looking for good value-for-money Gevrey-Chambertin -
2012 Domaine Dupont-Tisserandot Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers 1er Cru (Ex-domaine) Special Offers (Valid until Fri, 26th March 2021 only) - HK$580 per bottle if you purchase 3 bottles or above HK$565 per bottle if you purchase 6 bottles or above ETA 8-10 weeks 90-92pts Allen Meadows A ripe yet very fresh deeply pitched nose speaks of game, underbrush and wild dark berry aromas that are liberally laced with plenty of Gevrey style earth. There is some wood present on the intense, detailed and beautifully mineral-inflected medium-bodied flavors that possess fine mid-palate concentration before culminating in a robust, powerful and beautifully persistent finish. This is a classically styled Cazetiers that should reward a decade or so of cellaring. 93pts Wine Spectator A rich version, this savory red evokes cherry, blackberry, beet, black currant, smoke and tobacco notes. Dense yet supple in texture, with a firm underlying structure and a compact finish. The long aftertaste suggests tar and iron accents. Best from 2018 through 2029. Our Tasting Notes: The 2012 Les Cazetiers from Dupont-Tisserandot has a good beginning with an open and gorgeous bouquet of dark berries, tart cherries, spices and smokiness. It’s comparatively rich and opulent which offers charming nose and in the palate right after it is opened. An easy-to-approach Gevrey Chambertin and it will be a great food companion. 2013 Domaine Dupont-Tisserandot Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux St-Jacques 1er Cru (Ex-domaine) Special Offers (Valid until Fri, 26th March 2021 only) - HK$580 per bottle if you purchase 3 bottles or above HK$565 per bottle if you purchase 6 bottles or above ETA 8-10 weeks 93pts Wine Spectator Black cherry and blackberry flavors run high in this supple red, whose spice and mineral accents add depth and complexity.
