Sandwiched between Gevrey-Chambertin and Vosne-Romanee, Chambolle-Musigny is a small village that probably makes the most magical and fascinating wines of Burgundy. Chambolle-Musigny is the favorite village of many Burgundy experts including Master of Wine Clive Coates who is not shy to show his love and said, “I too find myself irresistibly seduced”. Although not the deepest in color, a good Chambolle-Musigny possesses a fantastic aromatic profile, and the palate is surrounded with stunning exotic red fruits and floral that could magically keep evolving glass after glass.
Every terroir in Chambolle-Musigny is different. The small village has two Grand Crus Le Musigny and Bonnes Mares. Le Musigny produces some of the most expensive wines in the world, while Bonnes Mares is a great wine to drill into – wilder in style as it is close to Morey-St-Denis, deeper and bigger in structure and comparatively lower in price. Some also strongly believe that Les Amoureuses should be rewarded with Grand Cru status – explosive perfume and femininity, word has it that drinkers would have illusions of a beautiful lady when having a nice Amoureuses. With careful selection, there are many good examples of 1er Cru and village in Chambolle-Musigny as well, however, you must know which producers to go for with each terroir. Today we are pleased to share with you our latest Chambolle-Musigny selections that we have carefully selected for you! Among the list is a Comte de Vogue Bonnes Mares Grand Cru 2001 which we tasted last week and found it to be utterly delicious! A few other highlights would be the Joseph Drouhin Musigny 2006 which is certainly a must-have for Musigny fans, Robert Groffier Bonnes Mares 2018 which is priced at Best Price in the World^, and last but not least, the Cecile Tremblay Chambolle-Musigny Les Cabottes 2011! All exciting and fascinating choices that would be excellent additions to any Burgundy collection -
