Domaine Fourrier is managed by second generation Jean-Marie Fourrier, who took over the family estate in 1990 when he was only 23 years old but was already extremely experienced for his age. His experience came not only from his experience from working at his family domaine, but also from working with the legendary Henri Jayer in Vosne-Romanee in which he was a part of the creation of the epic 1988 vintage. He learned and followed Jayer's philosophy in that the creation of the best wine starts in the vineyard, hence he has been meticulous in the cultivation of his vineyards, most especially for the old vines at Domaine Fourrier, and the domaine has been well-known for the elegance and rich fruits with immense purity in their wines.
Domaine Fourrier owns some of the very best plots in Gevrey-Chambertin, most being planted in the 20th century, with Griotte-Chambertin and Clos St-Jacques being two of their more famed vineyards which vines were planted between 1902 and 1910. These two wines are highly demanded amongst Burgundy fans around the world but the production is very limited. The Clos St-Jacques 1er Cru is considered one of the vineyards in Gevrey-Chambertin that have the qualities of being a Grand Cru class vineyard, and only 4 other top producers in Burgundy have ownership of this amazing premier cru and that includes Armand Rousseau, Louis Jadot, Bruno Clair and Sylvie Esmonin.
Today we are pleased to offer a small parcel of Fourrier's Gevrey-Chambertin Clos St-Jacques 1er Cru 2014 at just HK$3,800 per bottle. Scored similarly to the Armand Rousseau of the same wine and vintage by Stephen Tanzer with 94pts, it is almost half the price of that of Armand Rousseau's^, offering relatively amazing good value for money and undoubtedly a steal for wine of such caliber -

Healthy medium red. Sexy, complex aromas of strawberry, crushed stone and rose petal convey a captivating combe coolness. Wonderfully concentrated and bright, combining classic 2014 salty minerality with superb fruit intensity. Boasts the kind of restrained generosity of fruit that reminds me of the '99s in the early going. A compelling, saline vin de terroir but not a powerhouse. The long, rising finish features very suave tannins.
Just arrived in stock, we can also offer an impressive, massive 9L bottle of the Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 2012 -
