The iconic polychromatic-tiled Hôtel-Dieu (Hospices de Beaune) in central Beaune currently owns around 60 hectares which the majority are used for Pinot Noir production and the rest used for Chardonnay, in which around 85% are premier crus and grand crus. Today we are pleased to re-offer again their Volnay 1er Cru Cuvee Blondleau Rouge but from an older vintage 1999, and also the last availabilities of Pouilly-Fuissé Cuvée Françoise Poisard Blanc 2014 which is arriving mid of this week. The Cuvee Blondeau is made from grapes from 2 premier cru vineyards - Champans and Taille Pieds - and also vineyards that comprise of many old vines as old as 65 years old; while the Cuvee Francoise Poisard is a beautiful white cuvee that comes from 5 plots of vineyards that are 35-90 years old: Les Plessys gives round and powerful wines, while Les Robées and Les Chevrières give wines of perfumed fruitiness with considerable minerality. La Chatière and Haut de Savy are more richly structured.
