Chanson Pere & Fils is one of the oldest and most successful negotiants in Beaune since 1750. It was managed by the Chandon family until it was sold to Bollinger in 1999, and nowadays most of the facilities have been improved thanks to the financial arm of the famous Champagne house. They acquired organic certification in 2009 and they now have a shareholding of about 45 hectares with major holdings in Cote de Beaune - all of which are either Grand Cru or Premier Cru vines; and of the 45 hectares, 25 hectares are Beaune 1er Crus including Clos des Mouches which both red and whites are produced. Beaune Clos des Mouches 1er Cru is a very unique terroir, while most people would be familiar with this wine from Joseph Drouhin, Chanson actually produces very good reds and whites from this plot too!
