Offered earlier this month, this amazing bottle from Méo-Camuzet's winemaker's venture in Oregon, USA, has now arrived in stock! Offering at same price and discount as earlier this month, don't miss the chance to grab our last availability of this Nicolas Jay Pinot Noir 2017!
While Burgundy Pinot Noir is "naturally gifted" with the terroirs it holds - with a cool climate and soils rich in minerals - giving it a competitive edge against other Pinot Noir grapes grown elsewhere, and probably the most important key to success in Pinot Noir wine production stems from the long history and expertise of the Burgundians from decades of managing Pinots from wine to vine, there are still great examples from outside of Burgundy, especially those that are produced by experienced winemakers from Burgundy and even more so from winemakers from top domaines like that of Méo-Camuzet, which is Nicolas Jay. Nicolas Jay is a venture of a celebrated Burgundian winemaker Jean-Nicolas Méo of Domaine Méo-Camuzet and his friend Jay Boberg - a renowned music and media entrepreneur. They started their business in 2012 in the heart of Oregon's Willamette Valley in which Jean-Nicolas Méo has been fully in charge to craft their exciting and elegant Pinot Noirs to show the terroir of this Valley. Their debut vintage 2013 had sold out upon its release and qualities have excelled in the following vintages. Having sold much of the parcel earlier this month, we still have a small quantity available and ready for delivery now. This is a great opportunity to experience profound Pinot Noir from a different terroir by the hands of a winemaker from a renowned Burgundy domaine, like Jancis Robinson said herself, "Traditional French winemaking meets quintessential Oregon terroir."

Nicolas-Jay is a Pinot Noir venture between celebrated Burgundian winemaker Jean-Nicolas Méo of Domaine Méo-Camuzet and renowned music and media entrepreneur Jay Boberg. Traditional French winemaking meets quintessential Oregon terroir. Fruit for this wine is sourced from almost every AVA in the Willamette Valley, but almost exclusively from biodynamic, organic and LIVE certified vineyards. Unique sites include high-elevation Eola-Amity Hills, the foothills of the cool coastal range in the McMinnville AVA, the warm red-soiled vineyards of the Dundee Hills and their expressive Bishop Creek Vineyard in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. 2017 was a cool harvest following a 10-day heat spike. 30% new French oak. Rich and juicy with sweet fruit. Lots to enjoy here (apart from the price) and more moderate and balanced than some other wines from this producer I have tasted. Shows the pleasure to be had from Oregon Pinot...
