Following our offer on Dominique Laurent Bonnes-Mares 2011 last week, we are delighted to offer a new parcel of Grands Echezeaux 2014. From very old vines which were planted in 1926 not far from Musigny, this is another astonishing wine that you should take a look!
Dominique Laurent focuses on buying old vines across many appellations in Bourgogne in which most of the wines are negotiant arms and Dominique Laurent works with the growers very closely to ensure the quality of the grapes. He believes that Vieilles Vignes (old vines) gives the complexity and texture to the wines so his style in winemaking is also distinct in which he applies more oak than most other winemakers in Burgundy, making his wines powerful, richly-flavored and complex.
Putting Dominique Laurent Grands Echezeaux 2014 side-by-side with Burgundy's top producer – Domaine de la Romanee Conti, Laurent received a very similar score from Stephen Tanzer, but Laurent is priced at only 8% of of DRC Grand Echezeaux, making Dominique Laurent Grands Echezeaux a stunning buy -

(destemmed; from vines planted in 1926 not far from Musigny):Bright ruby-red. Restrained, very pure, slightly high-toned aromas of black raspberry and licorice pastille, complemented by a touch of grilled oak. Utterly silky and refined in the mouth, communicating great subtle sweetness to its dark fruit, saline and crushed-rock flavors; wonderfully creamy for such a mineral-driven wine. The very long finish features fine-grained tannins. This will probably reach its apogee later than the Echézeaux.
Subject to final confirmation. Available in 6-8 weeks.
Delivery is free-of-charge for single purchases above HK$3,000 or 6 bottles (or accumulated amount at time of delivery); otherwise, a standard delivery fee of HK$80 applies.
