Domaine Leroy was established by Lalou Bize-Leroy (aka Marcelle Leroy), daughter of Henri Leroy. She first entered the Burgundy wine industry when she took over her father’s negotiant business in 1955. By 1974, she co-managed top Burgundy winery Domaine de la Romanee-Conti (DRC). She was the one to help build up Romanee-Conti into one of the top wines in the world. She later left DRC and set up her own domains. In just 2 years, in 1990, she had already established Domaine Leroy as one of the leading wineries in Burgundy; and at 85 years old this year, as the perfectionist that she is, she is still heavily involved in the planting and growing of Domaine Leroy’s vines and production of the great wines in every vintage.
Collecting the latest release of 2014 is a fantastic opportunity, but while putting it aside in your cellar, why not consider earlier vintages that you can enjoy now?
